The Maiden Voyage
Frazier Horse Camp on Roosevelt Lake
Roosevelt, Arizona
May 10-13, 2017
9 campsites are just for equestrians.
They all have 2 12x12 pipe corrals, side-by-side.
Not on the lake shore, but very close . . .
with an amazing view!
The campsites have plenty of room for the largest trailers.
Our boys were very comfortable as well!
We headed out on the Frazier Trail Connector,
an easy ride until we got to the Cottonwood Canyon Trail,
which eventually gets you to the Arizona Trail.
This is where it became a bit challenging.
Cottonwood Canyon was lovely, but the trail was rather rough.
Rolling rocks and sharp rocks, so difficult for our horses to maneuver
even though they are quite used to rocky trails
in our Superstition Mountains.
Great view of the lake on the way back!
That's our 40' Trailer
So, our first Adventure was a complete success!
The campsite was perfect.
There is potable water, vault toilets, covered picnic tables.
Very close to the Tonto Ranger Station.
And mules would do well on these trails!
